Please help me with centerpieces. can you provide links to pictures?

ok I bought a bunch of these but they are clear http://www.discountcandleshop.com/images /sans/hearttealightholders.jpg I know someone said they look cheap and won't make it the night but they are solid glass and sturdy. anyway my question is what can I use as the main centrepiece? I like the look of martini glasses and I love the "floating candle dishes" also known as garden dishes http://www.angelbean.com/favours/images/ 6_8_10%20inches%20dish%20garden1.jpg should I go with low profile cause my low profile tea lights or would higher profile look good? what would you do? I bought 48 of the tea lights so they are a MUST use. btw my colors are cobalt blue and violet. I prefer not to use flowers cause they are expensive but am willing to see any ideas. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE. they will be rectangle tables was thinking (tea light main centerpiece tea light) or (tea light tea light main centerpiece tea light tea light)

i found some great options for you that with some shopping around wouldn't be expensive at all use food dye in the water for these options http://images.marthastewart.com/images/c ontent/pub/ms_living/2007Q3/mla101865_07 07_shglass08_l.jpg http://www.mariamcbride.com/images/Pictu re-1.jpg this looks super nice and classy and all you would really need is colored vases http://justjaime28.files.wordpress.com/2 009/05/partylite-summer-elegance-white-a nd-blue-tablescape-centerpiece-ideas.jpg

you could put the tea lights around the larger bowl and use some iridescent table scatter or glass crystals look at this site for ideas---http://www.save-on-crafts.com

I'd alternate your centerpieces if at all possible....use floaters or something for the ovals & then use your tea lights at the others. For an alternating centerpiece, you might consider a hurrican vase with a pillar candle. Remember to save some tealights for the cake table and the head table.

Do you think that this is a cute idea for wedding favors/table settings?

Our theme has yellow and dark blue (our two favorite colors, his blue, mine yellow). Anyway, in my bouquet there will be sunflowers, I LOVE sunflowers so there was no question about that. I'm on a budget, so I was thinking something creative for the centerpieces. I collect colored glass vases, have been since I was around twelve, and I have a TON of them all over the house, more than thirty extra that I can lend to the decorations, or just get them all on the table. But there are yellow ones, red ones, blue ones, or just clear ones with neat designs all from thrift stores. Anyway, I was thinking of putting sunflowers in the vases and scattering the different vases on tables with small candles, so the light goes through that. I was also thinking that they might be cute favors? Just so that I wouldn't have to deal with getting all the vases up again truthfully. Also what I was thinking for favors, is getting sunflower seeds in those brown seed bags and tying them with a ribbon that says our names and date. What do you think? My ceremony is on the beach and is very earthy and might I even say "Hippie". =]

I think it is a great idea! I love sunflowers, they are so pretty. I like the vases idea. Don't be afraid to mix and match the colors of the vases, stick a sunflower in it[buy an artificial one if you can't get a real practice one], and if it looks great, use it. Red is a really great color for sunflower yellow, and that sunflower yellow color would go pop against the red. And certain shades of red [not to mention blue and yellow and green]might coordinate the blue and the yellow together too. I adore the light shining thru colored glass and crystal. You should see my Xmas tree. A friend had her daughter's wedding at a glass blowing factory/glass artist's studio last year, and selected a glass creation for each of the reception tables. No flowers, just glass. Beautiful. And save yourself a lot of trouble and time with large numbers of vases, there is no need to saturate the reception with vases and flowers. A few well placed ones would be spectacular. Sunflowers are big and showy all on their own. One smaller vase with a single bloom, or a bigger vase with 3 would work. You could always bribe a guest to collect the vases and wrap them up for transport home. I would do it for a vase and some sunflowers. A dark red vase, or cobalt blue, please. Just be sure that your sunflower does not make your vase top heavy, we don't want you to lose any to breakage. If you want to give the votives away as favors, fine, but if they burn the entire reception time, they might be too hot to touch when it is time to take them home. I like the sunflower seed idea. Either the kind in the brown paper bag, or go get a small package at the store, the kind with the picture on the front. Either would be cute. Might consider tying the bag with natural twine, the kind like you would tie tomato vines up with, and find a cute country design for a gift tag. Or even cut out a tag from some brown paper, and buy sunflower stickers

That sounds so cute. If they are tall vases then you can take small candles and make a heart around the vase, vase in the center, or just a circle around it, maybe a star. or different shapes on different tables. have a great wedding! congrats. :)
Jenny Lynne | Jul 04, 2010
Sounds good to me, but I am confused, are you giving the vases away??? Go with the sunflower seeds but you should keep your vase collection, you might regret it.

It sounds perfect! I would love to have a little packet of sunflower seeds as a wedding favor! In fact, I grow them from seeds every Spring. :-)
dee | Jul 06, 2010
The vases are a very cool idea. It's almost like you were collecting them for this moment. Each vase will add your own personal touch to every table (very nice!!!!) Sunflower seeds... Another good choice! You could print a personalized label with your names and date on it or you could attach a personalized tag with the ribbon. I personally like the ribbon and tag. If you would rather not print the tag yourself you could find some here: http://www.planningpad.com/peta.html

About this book
Quick, easy to make, sophisticated, and elegant, these 40 silk flower arrangements are well suited to today's busy home decorator. The basics of designing that are illustrated and presented here will soon have the arranger making creative leaps in styling. Put the new, more lifelike silk flowers in treasured tiny vases; go "simply exotic" with Chinese-red blossoms and a single bold leaf; or make an everlasting, never fading bride's bouquet. Show off a bucket of tall blossoms, artfully arranged to look as if you've just carried them in from the garden. Hang a unique sylvan wall sconce, with leafy greenery, ferns, and berries, and a grapevine nest hidden amid the flowers. Designer tips and project variations expand the decorating possibilities.

Hand-Blown Bubble Glass Pitcher 045N - Flared Top Purple (Kitchen) I was happily surprised by this pitcher. The color is subtle and pretty, sort of old fashioned. But no dimensions were given in the description and so I was pleasantly surprised to find that it is large and heavy, maybe 10" tall. It is a beautiful and substantial piece and looks right at home with the oriental rug and antiques in the room I put it in. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , January 16, 2014

This review is from: Cobalt Blue Glass Decorative Bottle for Flower Vase or Decoration Decor, 6.5 Inch X 8.5 Inch with 2" Opening (Kitchen) I don't think it was clear that the glass is extremely bubbled looking. I was going to place it atop a 6 foot freestanding pantry and from that advantage point it looks acceptable. On a tabletop it would look very cheap and wrongly made. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , December 9, 2013
